what’s been happening, why is there is moral high ground, and why do they keep mentioning baby mamas? including: a timeline with background for the beef
new subscriber!! i love love love journalism and have always wanted to work for a blog like this! i also love love love rap music and rap beef so this was suuuchhh a fun read! you’re an amazing writer!
You are toooooo sweet!! I'm glad this was as fun for you read as it was for me to write. You should definitely start your own blog, you can dictate everything and I promise it's not as scary as you think 💗
Hi! I came from your tik tok post, but I’m now subscribed, can’t wait to read more.
I think you’ve touched on something really important, but as a listener on Kendrick’s side in this beef, I’d like to explain something I disagree with.
In general, Drake’s allegations towards Kendrick feel baseless. Not only does Kendrick directly call out Drake’s accusations in Euphoria (“But don’t tell no lies about me / and I won’t tell truths about you”) and in 6:16 in LA (“It was fun until you started to put money in the streets / Then lost money cause they came back with no receipts”), but in general Drake is a known liar. He even lies in Family Matter when he implies Baby Keem ghost writes for Kendrick, which makes no sense because Keem was 12 when Kendrick released GKMC.
However, if the allegations are true about Kendrick, then you’re 100% right: we as fans and listeners will need to change our views accordingly and address them, not just slide them under the rug and hope for the best.
Overall, can’t wait to see some evidence from either side, and I’ll be on the lookout for your future posts!
I agree with you 100% actually! Drake's always been super goofy in his accusations and his credibility alone is enough reason to disregard him. It's just interesting to me how Kendrick is seen as all-knowing etc etc and there's little pushback for him. But I doubt he would make such a serious allegation without receipts (not to mention the cover and doubling down in Not Like Us). Anyway thank you so much for coming from TikTok and actually subscribing, I really wanted that post to work haha
hi! i'm another soul that came from tiktok 🫶 very happy that i came across your account, your work looks very interesting! i'll probably be slowly going through your posts this week, so sorry in advance if i pop up a million times in your notifs.
i've re-read this article twice and i find it a very refreshing look into the feud. i think we all love a little circus and it has been (and still is) extremely entertaining. but like you and and christian divyne have very eloquently spoken, it's important to stop and actually take notice of w the very real and serious implications of the shit that is being thrown around like insults. i don't have much to add, you guys were already super thorough, but i saw a tiktok today that reminded me of ur post today. charlie curtis-beard (@charliecurtisb)'s tiktok response to the free metro beat verse contest has a verse in which he says: «/but how you gone say that k dot hitting this girl then shotout cb». like.........y'all rlly hit the bullseye. women in this fight are nothing but ammunition to be used and it leaves such a sour taste in my mouth, amidst all the fun.
and like. they're going to be forced to show evidence right? like this is criminal shit?? anyways! i'm excited to see what else cames out of this, in regards to those two and also your writing. xoxo
Aaaaa thank you so much for your kind words! This has legit been the one thing I can think about for the past week and I did happen to see Charlie Curtis-Beard's verse. I'm glad more people are seeing the hypocrisy. I feel like since Drake's actions are more expected in a way (maybe not the sex traffickers at OVO though 😬) people almost brush it off more, ESPECIALLY the Chris Brown thing, like he's *been* a problem. Anyway, thank you again for your support :)
